Snowbirds flying over the Battlefords
The residents in the Battlefords will have a unique view and sound from the skies this afternoon, when the Canadian Forces Snowbirds fly over the community.
The Snowbirds are crossing the nation to salute Canadians doing their part to fight the spread of coronavirus, a mission they’re calling Operation Inspiration. It’s intended to acknowledge the hard work of Canadians in grocery stores, pharmacies, hospitals and long-term care facilities in lifting up Canadians during the pandemic.
“The iconic Snowbirds have a special place in the hearts of many Canadians,” Minister of National Defence Harjit S. Sajjan said “We hope that their presence over Canadian cities and towns to acknowledge the hard work being done by Canadians in our grocery stores, our pharmacies, our hospitals and long-term care facilities lift up Canadians during these difficult times.”
Lieutenant-General Al Meinzinger, Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, said “we’re honoured to bring the Snowbirds team to Canadians and to pay special tribute to them.”
