Businesses using 360 sprayer to clean during pandemic

As Canadians rush to stock up on supplies to keep their homes and workplaces clean during the coronavirus pandemic, a new line of disinfectant products may become the answer for now and the future.

The Total 360 Electromagnetics Disinfectant Sprayer from Clorex is designed to limit how much you have to use your hands while cleaning, while also helping reduce the number of wipes spent cleaning rooms and the furniture in them.

Brent Packer, a contract manager for Modern Janitorial said they were looking for a sprayer like this for more than a year.

“We’ve talked to our rep who we got this from and there’s none in stock right now. It’s amazing how much this thing has sold out everywhere,” he said.

The sprayer atomizes disinfectant, breaking it down into tiny particles that become part of an electromagnetic charge. This allows the spray to cover surface areas, hitting them more directly and fully than typical sprays, making the wipe down process much safer and expedient.

“When it sprays out, that electromagnetic charge, anything that’ll conduct that charge, it will envelope it and cling to it,” Packer said.

Acquiring the 360 sprayer came right as an increasing number of businesses affected by COVID-19 are scrambling to better protect their employees and the public. Grocery stores are now limiting cleaning product purchases to one item per customer.

“All of our disinfection and hand sanitizing, it’s unreal, the demand for everything right now,” Packer said.

“This is something that you can’t prepare for, and you have minimal supplies on hand because everything has a shelf life,” added Brent Schell, facility superintendent for Innovation Credit Union.

Schell moved quickly to an agreement with Modern Janitorial after seeing an example of the 360 sprayer at work.

“Just looked like a really good alternative to help keep control of some of the scares and concerns that members and staff members have to keep it a safe environment,” Schell said. “It’s more efficient, as in man power, they can do a bigger square footage and probably a cheaper cost.”

Even businesses shutting down could feel more securely about the premises being wiped of bacteria.

“The shutdown is basically trying to protect people and their employees, but it’s definitely something that would give people some peace of mind,” Packer said.

And the use of this kind of product, whether it’s contract work or available on location, is something businesses could adopt moving forward.

“We’ll just use this on a regular basis to stay on top of not only this situation, but the ongoing situation of colds and flus and sicknesses that go around during flu season,” Schell said. “And help stay on top of some of those as well.”
