Town Hall office closed due to COVID-19 precautions

Battleford residents will want to note the Town Hall is closed as of Monday due to COVID-19 precautions.

The Town of Battleford has announced it is closing access to all of its offices effective March 23 to protect the town’s staff and the public from the spread of COVID-19.

The town said in a statement it will still be able to carry out normal services with some modifications. People are asked to call the relevant department with their request, or the town’s main number.

Distancing protocol

If anyone needs to meet in person with someone from the town, they should call 306-937-6200 to request an appointment. Staff will make an appointment after confirming the individual does not have any influenza-like symptoms and has not been out-of-province in the past 14 days. The meeting will occur in a room in which social distancing can be practiced.

Many of the town’s forms are available online, and more will be available in the coming days. People are asked to use these forms whenever possible and drop them off at the Town Hall building’s south door, through the mail slot.

If the town’s utilities department is asked to inspect anything in someone’s home, the resident will be required to clean the area staff need to access, and remain more than two meters away from the employees at all times. The town said at this time utility bills and property taxes are not due.

If anyone is experiencing economic hardship as a result of COVID-19, they can call the Town Hall at 306-937-6200 to speak with staff about their account.

For more information residents can visit the town’s website.

The town is asking people to stay informed on COVID-19 with credible information through the province’s website or the federal government’s site.
