Man loses license living life in the fast lane

A 73-year-old Edmonton man is facing a license suspension and a very big fine after being caught literally living life in the fast lane.

On March 14, around 12:40 p.m., North Battleford RCMP received multiple reports of a van driving at high speeds. According to police, the van was travelling eastbound on Highway 16 near Delmas, just west of North Battleford.

The van was caught on radar driving at a 180 km/hr. The man had his driver’s license suspended and his vehicle impounded on the spot.

The 73-year-old driver was charged for Speeding in Excess of 50 km/hr over the posted speed limit. He was issued a Summary Offense Ticket for the amount of $1,022. The driver also had his license suspended for three days in the province and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
