The case involving a Cochin-area man facing a second-degree murder charge is now scheduled for trial this May.

Joshua Roy Tucker, 27, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 59-year-old Gordon Tucker, his father, two years ago.

The accused is to stand trial from May 19 to 27 at Queen’s Bench Court in Battleford.

A pre-trial session was held for the accused Jan. 24. His next pre-trial date is March 27.

A preliminary hearing in the case held in January of last year in North Battleford Provincial Court determined there was sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial.

The RCMP previously reported they found Gordon Tucker deceased on May 31, 2018, on a rural property southeast of Cochin.

The allegations against the accused have not been proven in court.
