First baby of New Year a girl

It was an exciting start to the New Year for a young couple from Mosquito First Nation who celebrated the occasion with a new baby girl – the first born at Battlefords Union Hospital in 2020.

Dayanna Delisha Deshaye Stone was born to Daelene Moosomin and Desmond Stone at 5:43 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2020, officially making her the Battlefords’ first baby of 2020, said Saskatchewan Health Authority spokesperson Amanda Purcell in a release.

Dayanna weighed 10 lbs., 7 oz.

“Everyone is doing well,” Purcell said.

The family is settling in with their new addition to the family.
