City proposing two per cent property tax increase for 2020
The City of North Battleford has released its proposed 2020 budget that reflects a two per cent increase for property taxes as well as a two per cent increase for utility rates.
There is no increase for the Underground Pipeline and Asphalt Rehabilitation (UPAR) Program levy in the proposal.
Mayor Ryan Bater said there are still various projects that council needs to consider for funding, but he believes the proposed increase is modest compared to other years.
“That number may change but two per cent for utilities and property tax represents the lowest property tax and utility fund increases in well over a decade,” he said.
