A drive to succeed led Valerie Sluth to embark on her career as a business leader.

The founder and CEO of Praxis Consulting Ltd. shared her story with other women at the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce Holly and Heels – Celebration of Women in Business luncheon on Tuesday.

Sluth hopes to inspire other women to use their unique skills to help them succeed in their field.

She said she talks a lot about how “women really need to be in a position to lift one another up,” she said in an interview with battlefordsNOW. “We need to find the one single strength that resides in each of us and build upon that.”

Sluth encourages women in business to develop their own abilities to be strong entrepreneurs in whatever they do – whether it’s at work or in their personal projects.

It was her competitive spirit and love for synchronized swimming that actually first started her on her quest for success.

She swam throughout university and forged many long-lasting friendships along the way as she went on to pursue her goals. She obtained an MBA among her credentials and embarked on a career in business.

Today Sluth helps many women in her work to build business plans and see if they can start a business of their own, and grow it.

She started her own business, Praxis Consulting Ltd., 20 years ago and has never looked back. The company is known as Saskatchewan’s largest locally-based management consulting firm.
