The case involving a man facing a charge in the death of Roger Standingwater on Thunderchild First Nation last year has been adjourned while the accused seeks a bail supervision report.

Ivor Antoine Wapass, 44, who is in custody, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Standingwater, 57, on Sept. 15, 2018. Wapass was arrested Nov. 1, 2019.

He appeared via CCTV in North Battleford Provincial Court Monday.

Defence lawyer Jonathan Bodvarson requested to have a bail verification and supervision report prepared. When complete, the report will determine whether the accused will apply for bail at Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford at a future date. The bail supervision report will also canvas whether the accused would be suitable for an electronic monitoring program.
