Man charged in connection to September 2018 death on Thunderchild First Nation

A 44-year-old has been charged in the September 2018 death of a man on the Thunderchild First Nation.
Ivor Antoine Wapass was arrested on Nov. 1 and charged with second-degree murder in 57-year-old Roger Standingwater’s death.
Officers were called for an unresponsive male at a home on the First Nation on Sept. 15, 2018. They arrived and found Standingwater in medical distress. When paramedics arrived they pronounced him dead.
The Turtleford RCMP called in additional resources to help with the investigation from the North Battleford general investigation and identification section, and the RCMP Major Crimes Unit North.
