Oct 28, 2019 | 10:19 AM

Unionized employees at Saskatchewan Crown corporations have started the ratification process on a new collective bargaining agreement.

A tentative deal was reached between Unifor and six Crowns — SaskTel, SaskEnergy, SaskPower, SaskWater, Directwest, and SecurTek — on Oct. 20. The union and the Water Security Agency had come to a tentative agreement on Oct. 10.

The strike at the Saskatchewan Crowns began Oct. 4.

According to Unifor websites, ratification votes are scheduled for Directwest employees on Monday in Regina and Tuesday in Saskatoon. SecurTek employees are to vote Monday in both Yorkton and Regina.

Workers at SaskTel are to start voting Monday in Regina, with meetings set as well for Tuesday in both Regina and Saskatoon. Meetings also are scheduled for locations around the province until Nov. 14.

Ratification votes at SaskEnergy and SaskPower started Wednesday and are to continue in centres throughout Saskatchewan until Nov. 7.

The ratification schedules at SaskWater and the Water Security Agency weren’t immediately available.
