Province investigates high copper, lead levels in water at Saskatchewan Hospital

Recent water testing at the Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford (SHNB) has shown signs of irregularities and inconsistency that “indicate levels of copper or lead may be higher than desirable.”

“There is no immediate health risk, and no health advisory has been issued,” the Ministry of Central Services said in a statement.

The ministry said it’s taking an abundance of caution for the health of patients and staff, including making potable water available at the facility.

“A full investigation and further water testing is occurring at the site to remediate any issues that may be identified,” the statement added.
