A 15-year-old boy remains in hospital in Saskatoon after he was struck by a vehicle on Highway 16.

Officers in the Battlefords were called to the scene where Highway 16 West and Highway 4 merge before the bridge over the North Saskatchewan River at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 2.

The pedestrian, who was alone at the time, was taken to Battlefords Union Hospital for treatment but eventually flown to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

Police said the driver was sober and stopped to help the boy and called 911.
