Trial date set for Mountie accused of misconduct

A nine-year member of the RCMP will face trial next summer.
Const. Wade Chitrena, who has been charged with breach of trust, is scheduled to face trial in June 2020 at Court of Queen’s Bench in Battleford.
Chitrena was charged last November. A police investigation revealed at least one sensitive, private image of a woman being held in cells at the Buffalo Narrows RCMP detachment, was copied and printed from a surveillance video recording.
After the charge was laid, Chitrena was suspended with pay and an internal RCMP Code of Conduct investigation began.
