A simple traffic stop for improper mud flaps resulted in a substantial seizure of drugs and has led to trafficking and weapon charges.

Three kilograms of methamphetamine, 0.5 kilograms of cocaine, and three handguns were found inside a vehicle officers pulled over on Highway 16 near Maidstone on Aug. 28.

During the course of the stop, the investigation turned into a drug trafficking and possession investigation due to several factors, according to the RCMP.
