Jul 25, 2019 | 3:56 PM

An 18-year-old man is the third person arrested in connection to the death of Tiki Laverdiere.

RCMP arrested and charged Brent Checkosis Thursday morning with accessory after the fact to murder, improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Friday.

Officers said the investigation remains ongoing and they expect to make more arrests in the coming weeks.

Earlier this week, 32-year-old Danita Thomas and Shayla Orthner, 27, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle in relation to Laverdiere’s death.

They appeared in court this week and were ordered to have no contact with several individuals who could be potential co-accused or offer evidence in the case. Both are due back in court on Aug. 2.

Laverdiere’s remains were found in a rural area outside of North Battleford on July 11. The Edmonton woman was reported missing on May 12 after coming to the area in late April to attend a funeral on the Thunderchild First Nation.
