Member of Cowessess First Nation appointed as judge to North Battleford provincial court
A member of the Cowessess First Nation has been appointed as a judge to North Battleford Provincial Court.
Murray Pelletier started his career as a lawyer with Legal Aid Saskatchewan and worked with Sunchild Law Office before returning to legal aid as a staff lawyer in the north. Later, he worked as the legal director in the Saskatoon Rural Area Office. Most recently, he worked with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada in Saskatchewan.
Judge Pelletier received his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2007.
Justice Minister and Attorney General Don Morgan said in a media release that Pelletier has made valuable contributions to the legal community in Saskatchewan for the last 10 years.
