ROAD WORK AHEAD

Bridge work brings lane restrictions, reduced speeds

Jun 10, 2019 | 10:18 AM

Bridge construction around the Battlefords has a number of speed and width limits reduced within the work zones.

Highway 40 over Battle River will see traffic reduced to a single lane width of 4.1 metres controlled by traffic lights. Speeds are reduced.

Construction on the bridge on Highway 4 over Battle River has traffic reduced to one lane with a width of 7.3 metres, also controlled by traffic lights and reduced speeds.

Highway 16 over Highway 4 on the south side of the North Saskatchewan River has traffic reduced to a single lane with a width of 4.1 metres and reduced speeds.

Single lane traffic with a width of 4.1 metres and reduced speeds will also be seen on the Highway 4 bridge over Highway 16.

The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure said in a media release that over-width loads may be accommodated.

Companies or individuals wishing to transport loads or vehicles with widths greater than those noted above must contact the on-site supervisor Daniel Lemay in advance of the moving date to determine when transit is possible.

For the Highway 16 over Highway 4 overpass, local wide loads can be accommodated on local rural municipality roads.
