New R.M. fire department receives $25K donation

Parrish & Heimbecker has donated to the Rural Municipality of North Battleford’s volunteer fire department.

P&H gave the newly formed brigade $25,000 for equipment and tools.

“We are very much appreciative of this donation,” fire chief Neil Good said.

The funds, he said, will go towards purchasing a special washing machine that helps remove any cancerous toxins from uniforms.

“It is extremely important to help out with the equipment that will make it safer and help the firefighters,” Good said.

Since it’s inception earlier this year, the chief said the volunteer department has performed well. They have responded to seven incidents in eight weeks and each, he said, was a positive learning experience for the crew.

“I am very excited for where this department is heading,” he added.
