Country music legends the Gatlin Brothers will be coming to North Battleford next month to play some of the trio’s popular tunes from the past half century they have been performing together.

“We’re going to do some of the Gatlin Brothers hits, and some of the misses,” said Rudy Gatlin with a chuckle, when he spoke with battlefordsNOW Friday about the upcoming show. “We’ll just have a good time.”

Some of the Gatlin Brothers’ popular songs over the years include All the Gold in California, Houston and I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love.

“It’s usually entertaining because that’s what we love to do,” Gatlin said of the band’s concerts. ”We love to harmonize and sing good songs with the many hit records we’ve had, thank the good Lord. We have fun, so I think the crowd does too.”

Gatlin describes the Gatlin Brothers’ music as Classic Country, similar to the band Alabama, the Oak Ridge Boys or Crystal Gayle.

Rudy Gatlin said he and his brothers Larry and Steve will also be performing some Gospel favourites in the upcoming show.

“We were raised singing Gospel music so it certainly influenced us quite a bit,” he said.

Originally from Texas, U.S.A., The Gatlin Brothers are currently based in Nashville.

Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin have been singing together for the past 64 years.

Rudy was two years old, Steve was four and Larry six when the brothers first started singing as a trio.

“All our lives growing up as kids we sang,” said Rudy.

The brothers will be heading out on tour again next week.

Rudy Gatlin said he is looking forward to coming to the Battlefords and travelling through Canada as part of their North American dates. The Gatlin Brothers will be performing at the Gold Eagle Casino event centre on June 15.
