Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame looking to enjoy warmer weather with upcoming event

May 14, 2019 | 12:00 PM

With the weather warming up, the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in Battleford is gearing up for their Spring Fling event.

Everything starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Battleford Legion Hall on May 24, and will include supper, door prizes, raffles, a 50/50 and other activities throughout the night. The advance tickets are the only way to get into the doors, and are $15 each. Jane Shury, the President and CEO of the Hall of Fame, has held this event before. She has received positive feedback in the past, and is excited to have another event back in the Battlefords.

“It’s just a very nice, pleasant social evening. It’s not late, but it’s lots of fun. (We’re hoping) for a big turnout this year in Battleford,” she said.

Cocktails are at 4:30 p.m., with supper to follow at 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Legion. The new aspect brought in this year was adding in a free table-tennis competition for the guests to enjoy.

The biggest impact that Shury feels this event has for the community, is the chance to socialize and get back to enjoying the warmer weather after the long winter months.

“It’s time to shred the winter blues, and enjoying the beautiful life and weather that we have here in Saskatchewan,” she said. “Of course to enjoy the Battlefords and the citizens of the Battlefords.”
