The man facing charges stemming from a police pursuit and exchange of gunfire with officers south of Battleford in late March will be back in court later in May.

Randall Nicotine appeared via closed-circuit television in provincial court Wednesday morning, where his case was set over until May 23.

Judge Lloyd Deshaye granted his Legal Aid defence lawyer Andrew Lyster the adjournment after he said he received a thumb drive with more disclosure in the case yesterday and needed more time to review the evidence with his client.

Two more people were also added to a list of those who Nicotine is not to have contact with while he is in custody, which previously solely included his girlfriend and sister, material witnesses in the case.

Nicotine was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violations when he was arrested after a lengthy run in with officers on the night of March 21.He is charged with forcible confinement, child endangerment, and assault of a police officer with a weapon, among others.

During a previous court appearance, a mischief charge was brought forward, related to Nicotine allegedly destroying property owned by the provincial sheriff on March 27.

The 33-year-old is the same individual seen in the ‘Epic RCMP Takedown’ video that made the rounds on social media in 2016. His arrest on April 4 of that year was captured by a passing motorist’s dash cam.
