Annual Smoker around the corner for the Battlefords Wildlife Federation

Apr 3, 2019 | 12:04 PM

Tickets are going fast, as the Battlefords Wildlife Federation’s Smoker is just days away.

This year, the Battleford Arena will be the site of the 73rd edition of the Smoker. The event starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday and runs until 8 p.m. A DJ , along with CJNB morning man Grant Schutte will entertain guests of all ages for one of the Wildlife Federation’s biggest fundraisers of the year.

All the proceeds go back to the federation, helping continue its programs and maintain building costs for the year. Being the long-standing tradition that it is, the event is well-known and people look forward to it all year, Cheryl Irvine with the Battlefords Wildlife Federation said.

“They always leave with a tummy ache, because everybody overeats there,” she said. “Nobody leaves hungry.”

Along with the supper and entertainment, multiple raffles, a silent auction, and competitions continue throughout the night for the Wildlife Federation. Commercial displays will surround the dinner around the Battleford Arena for the guests to take a peek at in between the supper and entertainment.

“Just come out, have a great time and have a great meal (while) supporting the club,” Irvine said.

Tickets are available at the door, or in advance at Redhead Equipment and Leisure Time Sports. Members pay $20, while non-members pay $25. Memberships will be available at the door as well.
