2019 basketball champions crowned

Hoopla 2019 has wrapped up and the provincial champions in basketball have been crowned.

In the 4A girls division, North Battleford Comprehensive are the provincial champions after they downed Melfort 71-51.

In 4A boys competition, North Battleford John Paul II came up short in their bid for a third place finish falling to Notre Dame 68-47.

In the 5A girls tournament, Prince Albert Carlton came up short by a score of 82-79 to Regina O’Neil in the consolation final.

In the 2A division, the boys from St. Brieux are bring home the championship after defeating Norquay 85-83. In the same division, Birch Hills came up short in the third place game, falling to Regina Harvest City 89-81.

Both the girls and boys basketball teams will be bringing some hardware home to Middle Lake. The boys team won the third place game by defeating Coronach by a score of 90-68 in the 1A division. Meanwhile the girls will bring home the 1A championship crown after they defeated Gladmar 75-50.
