Oborowsky’s late tally leads Beaver Blues to 6-5 win in league final
It took until the 17-minute mark of the third period, but the Battleford Beaver Blues took home the win in game one of the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League Final 6-5 over the Edam 3 Stars.
Blake Oborowsky tapped in the winner right after the 3 Stars tied the game up from behind the net just 17 seconds prior to the winner. It was a back and forth game throughout, with momentum shifting hands throughout the night in the Battleford Arena.
Edam opened up the scoring just over six minutes into the first with a goal by Branden Ross, taking a quick lead over the Beaver Blues. Cody Danberg tied it up shortly thereafter for the Blues, but Edam entered the second with the lead after Damon Schaefer scored the first of two, he had on the night.
