An evening of fun and laughter is promised ahead of the 2019 Shamrockin’ Comedy Night on March 16.

The third-annual event, put on by the Battlefords United Way, will showcase Prince Albert comedian Kelly Taylor, who has appeared on stages across North America — most notably on Just for Laughs.

Rose Silzer-Quinn, Events and Campaign Coordinator with the BUW said guests can expect lots of laughs.

“He’s appeared in Vancouver and Halifax comedy festivals, he’s been in L.A. and New York and at some of the most respected (comedy) clubs,” she said. “We’re excited to have Kelly back in North Battleford.”

This will be the third year for the comedy night, and Silzer-Quinn said it will be a good evening for residents tired of the long winter. All proceeds will be donated toward community supports.

“It’s a good time for the people who come, and a great help to those who benefit from it,” she said. “We’ve (had) a couple tables sold to folks who are just saying thank you to their staff members for a great job throughout the year.”

Tickets can be purchased through the BUW office, and are $25 in advance.

Local band Stereo Playground is also set to perform at the event. The rock band is from the Battlefords and surrounding area, and has been performing for nine years around the area.
