Dennis Oland expected to continue testifying in his defence at trial
SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Dennis Oland will be the only witness for the defence on the stand at his trial today in the death of his multimillionaire father in Saint John, N.B.
Oland began his testimony late on Wednesday, declaring his innocence in the bludgeoning death of his father, Richard Oland, on July 6, 2011.
The soft-spoken investment adviser told the court he wants to testify in his own defence so people can hear from him directly about the last time he saw his father the day he was murdered.
