One arrested after warrant executed on Onion Lake First Nation

One man is facing forcible confinement and a number of other charges after police executed a warrant on the Onion Lake First Nation Wednesday.

Members of the Onion Lake RCMP, Emergency Response Team, North Battleford Police Dog Service and the Crime Reduction Team executed the search and arrest warrant, which stemmed from a firearms incident in late December 2018, according to a media release.

Kevin Heathan, 45, is facing a number of charges, including forcible confinement, seven related to firearms and one for assault.

A search of the home resulted in not only the arrest, but a seizure of weapons, a large quantity of ammunition, and a small quantity of cocaine. Heathen will next appear in Lloydminster Provincial court on Feb.11.
