The new Battlefords Chamber of Commerce chair wants to hear from businesses in the next 12 months to help them better achieve their goals.

Dallan Oberg, the former vice chair, was sworn into his new position at the Chamber’s 113th Annual Chair’s Banquet Tuesday evening. Oberg takes over the role from Terry Caldwell.

The chamber expanded its territory last year so Oberg said he will be looking at finding out what they ned as well. The chamber plans to meet with area Indigenous communities to find out “how we as a chamber can help with their business initiatives, and partner with them to grow,” he said.

Caldwell was recognized during the ceremony for his work helping to improve the Battlefords with the launch of Action Battlefords, which increased Battlefords Citizens on Patrol volunteer numbers. It also fundraised and started a public relations campaign to boost the regions profile as a good place for families and business to grow.

“I think we accomplished a lot,” he said.
