Additional charges after fatal shooting in Montreal Lake

As an investigation into a fatal shooting on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation continues, two suspects are now facing additional charges according to the RCMP.

Wesley Eugene Lachance’s additional charges include attempted murder, use of a firearm during the commission of an offence, robbery using a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, and uttering threats.

Brandon Lee Corrigal is also facing more charges, including attempted murder, use of a firearm during the commission of an offence, robbery using a firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm while prohibited and breach of probation order.

Jeremy Wade Charles is the third person facing charges in relation to the incident. 

On Nov. 19, Trina Bird, 25, was found unresponsive in a vehicle near Prince Albert after a police chase. She died at the scene.

A 16-year-old male survived a gunshot injury in the incident that appears to have started in Montreal Lake earlier.

Police say the investigation into the death of Trina Bird is still ongoing.

Both men will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Nov. 30.
