Woman dies after vehicle crosses median, strikes vehicle on Hwy 16

A woman is dead following a multiple vehicle collision on Highway 16 Tuesday morning.

Police said they were called to the scene approximately one kilometre west of the Battlefords around 10:40 a.m. after an eastbound vehicle lost control, crossed the centre median and struck a westbound vehicle.

The 25-year-old female passenger of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

A two-year-old child and 26-year-old male also in the vehicle were taken to Battlefords Union Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, as was a 29-year-old female in the westbound vehicle.
