Local organizations hope to make Halloween fun and safe
Keeping your kids safe during Halloween night.
That’s what Access Communications is hoping to do during their Pumpkin Patrol this year, a tradition dating back 20 years. They will be patrolling the streets of the Battlefords, insuring safety throughout the hours of 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in cooperation with the ambulance services.
“It’s been a Saskatchewan tradition for over 20 years now,” Tracey Mucha, communications manager for Access Communications, said. “We got together as an organization and we’re trying to figure out a way to keep the streets safe for everyone on Halloween night. One of our core values is being involved in the communities. It’s really a fun time, getting out there and keeping the streets safe. It’s important that if a child is lost that we’re there to help them if they run into any types of issues.”
Mucha said there will be 10 vehicles marked with ‘Pumpkin Patrol’ decals and orange beacon lights patrolling both North Battleford and Battleford.
