A driver going 61 kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit was fined and had their vehicle impounded by a Community Saftey Officer.
Saturday, a CSO observed the driver travelling along Highway 16/40 at 141 kilometres per hour in an 80 zone. The driver was fined $921 and had their vehicle impounded for seven days, according to a release from the city.
North Battleford CSO supervisor Ross MacAngus is reminding drivers to obey posted speed limits and to drive at speeds that are reasonable and safe for the situation, especially with winter approaching.
“Speeding or driving too fast for the road conditions reduces your control of the vehicle and reduces your reaction time,” he said.
