Sportsman of the Year Celebrity Fundraiser

The 2018 Prince Albert Kinsmen/Raiders Sportsperson of the Year Celebrity Fundraiser Awards Banquet featuring special guest, Adam Oates will be Friday, October 26th at the Art Hauser Centre .

The Prince Albert Raiders, the Kinsmen Club of Prince Albert and the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group are pleased to announce the 2018 Sportsperson of the Year and Male & Female Athletes of the Year at the upcoming celebrity banquet.

 Local honourees: Jesse Byrne, Shantel Kalika, Ian Litzenberger and Kalen Kovitch will be awarded.

Prince Albert’s Male Athlete of the Year is Jesse Byrne, the greatest bullfighter in the world.

Shantel Kalika is the Female Athlete of the Year. Shantel has excelled in the male-dominated field of NASCAR racing.

The Sportsman of the Year award will be shared by the Project Triple Play committee, Ian Litzenberger and Kalen Kovitch.

NHL All-Star and Hall-of-Famer Adam Oates will be the featured guest speaker for this year’s Kinsmen Sportsman Dinner. He is the NHL’s 18th all-time point leader, and holds the record for most points all-time of any NHL player who also played NCAA Hockey. After retiring as a player, he served the Capitals as their Head Coach for two seasons between 2012 and 2014. Adam played in five NHL All Star Games and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012. In 2017, he was named one of the ‘100 Greatest NHL Players’ in history.

The evening will include a live and silent auction, prime rib dinner (beverages included), and games and opportunities to win many great prizes.

All proceeds raised through this charity fundraiser will benefit the Prince Albert Raiders Education Fund and “Our Community’s Greatest Need” through the Kinsmen Club of Prince Albert.
