Local accepts head coaching job with Fort Knox
A North Battleford product is heading down south to be behind the bench.
Ryleigh Campbell was hired over the weekend to become the new Head Coach of the Prairie Junior Hockey League’s Fort Knox. The former North Star assistant coach will be taking the reins of the Junior B hockey club.
Campbell told battlefordsNOW he is extremely excited to be back behind the bench. He said the greatest benefit to the job is being closer to family.
“Just being back in Saskatchewan, being closer to my kid, she’s been my number one fan and my biggest supporter,” he said. “When I asked her if she wanted daddy to start coaching again she started singing Oh Canada. She lives for Oh Canada and We Will Rock You. You can tell she’s been raised around the rink; it’s great to be closer to home.”
