Cinema construction begins
The new Magic Lantern four-screen cinema planned for downtown North Battleford is almost here.
“The first shovel went into the ground today,” Mayor Ryan Bater said following council Monday.
“This has been a couple of years in the works,” he added. It’s going to be a major addition to downtown and a significant anchor. It’s going to bring people. It’s going to bring consumers. It’s going to add to the quality of life because of the entertainment offerings in this community. It’s a very exciting project and I’m elated to see that it’s begun.”
He said now that the new build project is beginning, residents will no longer be able to access the gravel portion of the block, where the cinema construction is taking place.
