Battleford post office to officially reopen in June
Battleford residents have something to look forward to now that the historic post office building downtown is finally set to reopen for business.
Canada Post announced Wednesday the post office on 22nd St. will open June 4. The post office in the century-old building was expected to open before Christmas of last year, though the project suffered delays as there were still some final details to complete. Canada Post has now officially announced the reopening.
“We sincerely apologize to our Battleford customers for the delay in returning to our newly renovated post office,” Canada Post said in a statement. “We are looking forward to serving our customers on 22nd St. starting Monday, June 4.”
The building owners, Cassandra Germsheid and her husband Jesse Crozier, have contributed a number of improvements to the century-old building along with Canada Post. Germsheid said she and Crozier were excited to hear the post office will be ready to open again soon.
