Silvernagle rink 1-1 after day two of Pinty’s Challenge

Switzerland’s Binia Feltscher showed why she is a former world women’s curling champion on Wednesday.

The Swiss skip scored five points in the first three ends and went on to defeat North Battleford’s Robyn Silvernagle 7-5 in the sixth draw of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Tour Challenge being played in Regina this week.

Feltscher (2-0) won the 2014 and 2016 gold medal at the World Women’s Curling Championships , scored two in the first, one in the second, and another two in the third to take a 5-0 lead. Silvernagle countered with three points in the fourth end to close the gap at 5-3, but the veteran from Flim, Switzerland scored singles in the fifth and eighth ends to seal the victory.

The Silvernagle foursome of Kara Thevenot of Prince Albert (lead), Dayna Demers of Meadow Lake (second), and Jolene Campbell of Saskatoon (third), are back on the ice today in draw nine at 4:30 p.m. facing Scotland’s Hannah Fleming.
