April Wine to take stage in N.B.
Legendary rockers April Wine will be appearing at the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford on Sept. 22 and according to marketing co-ordinator Shane Fluney, it’s a privilege to have the group perform at the casino once again.
“We (Gold Eagle Casino) are absolutely thrilled to welcome back April Wine to the Battlefords,” Fluney said. “Having such an iconic Canadian band being the first to play on our newly renovated stage will make for a much more special evening.”
April Wine was formed in 1969 in Waverley, Nova Scotia which is a suburb of Halifax by brothers David and Ritchie Henman. They were joined by cousin Jim Henman on bass and Myles Goodwyn on lead vocals.
In his autobiography, Goodwyn said the group’s original members chose the name April Wine because they thought the two words sounded good together.
