Blue Jays stay alive vs. Cardinals in NSRBL finals
The top team from the regular season in the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League will indeed live to fight another day.
On Wednesday night, the Border City Blue Jays edged the Unity Cardinals 5-4 on the road in game two of the leage finals, to force the decisive third game on Thursday in Lloydminster.
The Jays got a complete seven innings from Colbey Field, while Kurri Carlson drove in the winning run off of Unity pitcher Cory Wildeman in the top of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie.
“It was do or die tonight and we knew that coming in, that we had to come and play our asses off,” Field saidm following the gutsy win. “The guys came through with some big hits and that kind of won it for us.”
