Jun 7, 2017 | 4:10 PM

A stolen wheelchair and two incidents involving knives are some of the 59 incidents that kept Battleford’s RCMP busy over the last 24 hours.

At 3:50 a.m. this morning police responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on one of the north First Nation communities. RCMP said an unknown male began assaulting another male with a big knife resembling a machete at a residence. EMS transported one male to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries. It remains under investigation.

Just before midnight there was a report of a male threatening to harm his girlfriend while walking around in his underwear and carrying a knife. RCMP arrested the male without incident. No injuries were reported.

At 10:38 a.m. yesterday a male was reported stealing a wheelchair from the local hospital. He was arrested a short distance away in the wheelchair. The wheelchair was returned without incident.
