Warm start to May good for outdoor businesses

The temperature reached 29 degrees in North Battleford yesterday, which is the hottest May 5 on record in at least eight years according to Environment Canada.

With outdoor businesses such as Krazzee Kones, a local ice cream shop, opening for the season, the warm weather could not have come at a better time.

Ali McMaster, a server at Krazzee Kones, said that the hot weather has been good for business. 

“The hotter it gets, the more people we get,” she said. “Come evening time it’s packed… there’s a steady line and it goes for about three hours.”

Despite some cloud cover today, the high is close to yesterday’s temperature at 27 degrees, and the weather doesn’t appear to be cooling off much throughout next week.

Though Sunday and Monday are possibly looking to bring some rainfall, come Tuesday, expect lots of time for fun in the sun as the forecast calls for clear skies with temperatures around 20 degrees.
