Unlocked vehicles prove tempting for N.B. thieves
Despite repeated warnings in recent months, local RCMP continue to be inundated with calls about break and enters into unlocked cars.
Three such incidents were reported on Wednesday.
Shortly before 8 a.m., RCMP were called to a residence in the 300 block of 23rd St. in Battleford. Thieves stole a purse, wallet and prescription glasses from a vehicle left unlocked overnight.
At 5 p.m., police responded to another theft in the 1500 block of 100th St. in which another wallet and money was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Less than an hour later, another report of a break-in in the 1500 block on 107th St. where the suspect made off with a set of keys.
