Vikings can’t top Toilers; will play for bronze at Hoopla

It was a tough first half for the North Battleford Comprehensive Vikings senior girls basketball team on Friday night, which eventually led to their defeat in the 4A semifinal game against Moose Jaw Peacock on Friday night.

Despite getting outscored by only two points in the second half, the Vikings lost by a final score of 68-49, after falling behind 37-20 after two quarters.

The loss sets up a bronze medal game on Saturday at 11 a.m. against the Weyburn Eagles, who fell 57-37 to Melfort. Melfort will face Moose Jaw Peacock in the gold medal game.

Nahoni Tootoosis led the Vikings with 13 points on Friday, while Moose Jaw’s Katherine McDougall led all scorers with 18 points.
