“It’s kind of interesting because the first time that we performed outside of our hometown, more on a professional basis, was actually in Saskatchewan so it’s kind of neat,” she said. “We’ve been back to Saskatchewan many, many times and we just always have a great reception when we’re there so we enjoy that.”

The Fitzgeralds have another son, who used to perform with them when he was younger, but has moved on to other ventures.

“When the kids were younger it was a great way to travel, see the country, almost like a paid holiday,” Pam said. “We’ve done things that we wouldn’t have done otherwise and we’re just lucky that all four of our kids enjoyed the dancing and the fiddling and all that that entails.”

The band is currently in the U.S., kicking off the two month tour, and will cross the border to bring their sound to the prairies in the coming days.
