Puppets on display at N.B. artist centre
Cultures from around the world are on display in North Battleford, all in the form of puppets.
Puppets and Imagination, Traditions from Around the World is the latest exhibit on display at ARC Creative Studios in the city’s downtown. The show features more than 50 puppets from nine different countries, including some made locally.
Turkey, Greece, Vietnam and Burma are a few of the countries represented by puppets at the gallery, with some pieces dating back as far as the 1920s.
Curator Sherron Burns said the inspiration for the exhibit came from a desire to hang on to her own playfulness, curiosity and imagination.
