UPDATE: Extreme temperatures cause school and bus closures

Due to the extreme cold temperatures, several area schools are closed, and many bus routes are not running.

Several area schools are open, but buses are not running, which means parents will have to make their own arrangements to get their kids to school.

All rural school buses in the Living Sky School Division are not running. That includes buses in Maymont, Wilkie, Leoville, Unity, Macklin, Spiritwood, Hafford, Luseland, Kerrobert, Medstead, Cando, and Cutknife are not running, but schools are open throughout the division.

In the Battlefords, Bus #5 (Baljennie run) is not running, Also, Bus #35 (Bell Jerrys) is not running. However, all other urban buses in North Battleford and the town of Battleford are running.

However, Jay #33, #34, #38, #40, #41 and #43 are not running.

Further, the John Paul II Ski Day has been cancelled.

Chief Poundmaker School, Moosomin School, and Sweet Grass School have announced they are closed for the day.

Clifford Wuttunne School is closed today for students, and no buses are running. However, teachers have been asked to be at the school by 11 a.m.

Saulteaux School has no buses running today, but teachers are to be at school by 10:30 a.m.
