Joyriding teens arrested after several vehicles stolen
Two Battleford area youths have been arrested following an overnight joyride spree involving four stolen vehicles from the Battlefords and Maidstone.
Constable Ryan Reid said Maidstone RCMP responded to complaints that several vehicles had been stolen in the area early Monday morning.
“The suspects were involved in a collision at the intersection of Highways 16 and 21. Two of the stolen vehicles, a blue Ford pickup and a White Dodge truck collided with one another. The Ford was abandoned at the collision scene, and a short time later the Dodge was located abandoned west of Paynton. These vehicles were taken from Maidstone,” said Reid in a statement.
With help from Battlefords Police Dog Services, a 14-year-old male youth from the Battlefords area was arrested without incident.
