Nov 21, 2016 | 9:28 AM

RCMP are investigating after a man said he was assaulted for confronting a man breaking into his car.

The victim said he saw a man trying to break into his car on 97th St. in the morning of Saturday, Nov. 19, according to an RCMP news release. When he confronted the alleged thief, police said the suspect assaulted him and fled.

RCMP said the man was not injured in the assault.

The suspect is described as wearing brown coveralls and a grey cap. The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP are investigating several break and enter incidents, also on 97th St., in the days prior.

In the afternoon of Nov. 17, there were two reported break and enters to residences on 97th St., which police believe are related. One residence had bicycles, tools and other items stolen.

RCMP received another complaint of a break and enter to a garage on 97th St. the next day, but the victim didn’t know what time it happened so police believe it is related to the first two.
