A new grain terminal is coming to northwest Saskatchewan.

The $30 million GrainsConnect Canada project will be built in the R.M. of Reford, near Wilkie. Construction is expected to begin immediately, according to a news release.

The facility will have 35,000 tonnes of storage capacity with the ability to load 130 rail cars in 10 hours, much like the company’s first terminal currently under construction in Maymont.

According to the release, the project will create roughly 50 local jobs during construction and 12 to 15 permanent jobs once it’s completed.
